Also included are Registers of in-letters of the Commander-in-Chief, 1857 to 1870, relating to the Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers, Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, etc.
The series includes material which would otherwise be found amongst the Records of the Commander-in-Chief, Military Secretary and Army Council (WO).
The books contain:

- the Board's action (if any);
- the disposal of the paper.
