Description:
Petitioners: Emeric (Aimery, Amerigo) de Friscobaud (Frescobaldi) and his companions, merchants of the Frescobaldi.

Nature of request: Emeric de Friscobaud and his companions, merchants, state that they have lent £3500 sterling to gentlemen of Gascony coming frequently to England, and have not been able to have payment, except through letters sealed with the seal of the Earl of Lincoln for debts that the king owes them. They ask that the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer be ordered to allow these letters to the said merchants in their account for the custom of England.
Nature of endorsement: John de Sandale is to be ordered to see the letters and examine them by his books, and if he finds that they are good, he is to send the same letters to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer under his seal. And the Treasurer and Barons are to be ordered that, when they have received the same letters, they are to allow the said letters to the said merchants in their account for the custom of England.
