Description:

Two books of feudal tenures held from the reign of Edward I to that of Elizabeth I, with place indexes. Each page is signed by Julius Caesar [Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1606-1614]. This suggests that the books date to the reign of James I and may perhaps been seen as part of the debates of the period on fiscal feudalism. The second book has an addition which states that 'This book was given by Nic Harding Clerk of the House of Commons 28 Feb 1744' signed by H Rooke.
