The Columbian Connection': cocaine smuggling syndicate: Alberto Narvaez Zuluaga SOTO, Alfonso Cesareo Romero TOBON and Manuel Guslavo Sanchez RICO: convicted of conspiring to commit burglaries between 1 December 1973 and 29 July 1974 to finance the purchase of cocaine from Hernandez CORTES who was convicted of conspiracy to import cocaine and possession of drugs with intent to supply. Vincent John LIBERTO: convicted of nine counts of conspiracy to import cocaine; escaped from Wormwood Scrubs Prison, London, in December 1979, but was subsequently apprehended in USA in 1982 and extradited to the UK.
