Much of the revised numbering system remained the same as that in use since 1940, with the exception that all files now had the addition of a two letter prefix which indicated the broad subject matter covered (eg LB = land and buildings, TR = transport).
Accruals: Series is accruing
Administrative / biographical background: The records in this series consist of registered files relating to criminal investigations by the Metropolitan Police from 1954 onwards.
