SPANTON v SALTONSTALL AND OTHERS Plaintiff Mary Spanton, executrix of Cooper (or Cowper) Spanton, a contractor dec. Defendant William Saltonstall, commissary and paymaster of artillery in America. Papers relate to ship Mary Galley chartered by Ordnance Board, Captain Alexander Dickie, commander, HM Transport Service, master, and carrying arms and ammunition to Quebec. Ship was forced to return to Boston due to storm damage resulting in loss of cattle on board. Exhibits include accounts for repairs and sworn protests of Dickie and some crew members
