The projects selected by the ministry bore on contemporary and potential ministry requirements in relation to national defence and included special methods for the control of environmental conditions in ministry warehouses, the study of packaging problems to control corrosion of metal containers, and the development and ultimately the limited production of dehydrated foodstuffs at the Ministry of Food Experimental Factory, Aberdeen. Production continued under the control of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food until the closure of the factory in 1961. |
