Folios 714-719. To: The Local Government Act Office. From: William Baker, Clerk to the Lymington Local Board, Lymington [Hampshire]. Subject Matter: Letter requesting advice and instructions on the enclosed letter received today from the Clerk to the Magistrates on the subject of certain proceedings which have been taken before them for enforcing the General District Rate levied by the Board. Baker state that he hopes to lay the reply to this at the next meeting of the Board on Tuesday. He gives a detailed account of their position as it stands at present with respect to the Local Government Act 1858. He suggests a deputation be sent so as the business can be more fully entered into. |
