To: The Local Government Act Office.

From: W Henry Grove, Lymington [Hampshire].

Subject Matter: Letter explaining that the meeting that was convened last Friday for the purposes of section 24 of the Local Government Act 1858 where Grove was appointed chairman, which was adjourned due to the refusal of those who held the minutes of the former meeting to give up the books containing these minutes. Grove adds that the adjourned meeting was held today, an appeal [enclosed] was handed to him signed by 247 ratepayers and owners against the validity of the Poll taken here for the adoption of the Act. He states that he will present the appeal to the Home Office on Monday next at 12 o'clock.
