To: The General Board of Health.

From: George Bailey, Clerk to the Luton Local Board, Luton [Bedfordshire].

Subject Matter: Letter requesting a reply to a letter of the 1 September 1858 with reference to the Special District Rates. Bailey explains that this is important to the Luton Local Board as they are anxious to levy the proper rate for the instalments due for the principal and interest. He further explains the mortgage of the Special District Rates was executed in January 1857 and the instalments for which, the Board are about to levy a rate where it was due last February.
