To: Edward Williamson, Clerk to the Justices for the Luton Division, Luton [Bedfordshire].

From: The General Board of Health.

Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 28 March 1850 referring to the memorial [petition] from certain inhabitants of the town of Luton, opposed to the application of the Public Health Act 1848 from the owners of small cottages and the small ratepayers, whereas the respectable inhabitants, whether owners or occupiers of rates above £10 a year are unanimously in favour of the Act being enforced. In reply the Board thanks Williamson for forwarding this intelligence for the information of the Board.
