Description:

Folio 85: John Bowyer, Purveyor, Reading. Has surveyed elm timber of Sir Henry Ashurst near Tame with some 13 trees. One length of tree may be suitable for a keel piece for a 2nd Rate ship. He has surveyed in Dorton Park some oak trees belonging to Mr. Read, who is willing to treat with the Board, which timber may be suitable for 2nd or 3rd rate ships. He has marked out some pieces out of Roger Howard's timber, to be sent to Woolwich, which may be suitable for sterns for the 2nd Rate ship building at Deptford or for the 3rd Rate ship.
