Crime: Cattle stealing, namely a calf, the property of James Ball of Burley, Hampshire, butcher. Initial sentence: Death, commuted to transportation for life. Annotated (Outcome): Nil. Petitioner(s): Prisoner; Love Warne of Hurn near Ringwood, the prisoner's aunt. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): The prisoner is innocent; he had no time to prepare his defence before trial; the prosecutor's evidence was inconclusive.
