Court and date of trial: Gloucestershire Summer Assizes, Gloucester, 1826.

Crime: Stealing money, namely five shillings (and a cask and a small quantity of brandy) from the house of John Goode (victualler, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire).

Initial sentence: Seven years transportation.

Gaoler's report: 'Connected with a gang'.

Annotated (Outcome): 'On board Justitia' [Convict hulk at Woolwich, London]; 'Not selected for recommendation on account of former character'; 'Nil Sept 27 1830'.

Petitioner(s): Susannah Hale (mother) of Worcester Street, Cheltenham undersigned by John Goode (prosecutor) and Robert Capper (committing magistrate) with 57 civic dignitaries or other inhabitants of Cheltenham; Susannah Hale undersigned by Robert Capper (both as above).
