Description: |
Folios 155-157. To: The Local Government Act Office. From: J and J Hibbert, Hyde, [Cheshire]. A letter. Hibbert and Hibbert relate that the Village of Gee Cross, neighbouring Hyde, wishes to adopt the Local Government Act 1858. However, the village is in a peculiar position, some it being within the boundaries of the township of Hyde, whilst a portion of it is in the township of Werneth. A plan has been proposed to separate the portions of Gee Cross inside the Districts of the Hyde and Werneth Local Boards of Health so that a new, separate Hyde District might be formed. Hibbert and Hibbert request the Office's advice as to how this would be achieved. |
