Reference: ADM 106/1110/254
Description:

Captain Francis Holburne, London, to Charles Burley. Receipt of letter that I was to give an opinion on the Monserat Brimstone. It is as good for ships' bottoms with a little care as what is sent from here. He tried it at first because of the great saving to the Government. Opines it would be adviseable to contract for it in English Harbour. The Carpenters will not be pleased with it as it does not mix with turpentine without some trouble
