Petitioners: Walter Ardern of Warwickshire, esquire.

Nature of request: Ardern shows that where as his son and heir John, by crafty means and by such force and might as he has, and seeing that his father is but an innocent man intending no trouble but to live upon his lands in rest and peace has entered upon his lands, against his will and contrary to the law and ousted him, his wife and other children from his lands to his great sorrow and utter undoing without the prince's gracious aid. He requests that having considered the matter, and by the advice of his council, the prince will direct letters missive to John to end his occupation, and to appear before the prince and his council at a certain day to answer the premises, and the council to rule as is thought most appropriate to right law and conscience.
