Folio 138. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to John Kirkland, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union. They acknowledge receipt of a letter of 29 October 1856 and give approval to the continuance of Robert Barnett as schoolmaster. The Board ask that after a further 6 months another report on Barnett's progress in his duties should be sent and also any examination report if he is seen by an inspector of schools in the meantime.
An annotated note asks for an extract to be sent to the auditor. Annotated, 30 May and 2 June 1857, no report has been received and to write asking for one.
