Details of SC 8/338/E1247
Reference: SC 8/338/E1247
Description:
Petitioners: Guillaume Arnaud of Narp, proctor and attorney of Master Raymond de Planeaux, king's clerk.
Name(s): Arnaud, Guillaume
Addressees: King.
Occupation: proctor and attorney of Master Raymond de Planeaux, king's clerk
Nature of request: Arnaud shows that the bishops of Ely and Bath requested to have a promise to Master Raymond for him to have advancement to the benefit of Holy Church, honourable to his estate, and nothing has been done. Arnaus requests that the king will order by his special letters to the bishops that they advance Planeaux in the manner that at another time was promised to him.
Nature of endorsement: He should have letters of supplication just as before.
Places mentioned: Narp, [Guyenne, France].
People mentioned: Raymond de Planeaux, king's clerk; Bishop of Ely; Bishop of Norwich.
Note: The petition is dated to 1305-1306 as this petition seems to be part of an original file of Gascon petitions - SC 8/338/E1217-SC 8/338/E1260 - for which SC 8/338/E1228 seems to have been the cover petition. The dating of this group of documents is arrived at by the possibility of more closely dating several of the petitions in this group, and these are noted when necessary. In addition, almost all of the petitions bear the old PRO references to Diplomatic Documents 1542 and 1548.
Date: [1305-1306]
Related material:

The petition belongs to a probable original file consisting of SC 8/338/E1217- SC 8/338/E1260 of which SC 8/338/E1228 was probably the cover petition judging from its endorsement, see SC 8/338/E1228
