Catalogue description Records of the Conferences of Heads of Government Departments in Wales

In 1946, as a result of pressure from Welsh MPs, arrangements were made by Herbert Morrison, then Lord President of the Council, for heads of all departments with administrative responsibilities in Wales to meet three to four times a year to review the general execution of government policy in Wales, to advise ministers on questions of general administration and to submit a report which was to be published as a Command Paper. The reports were discontinued in 1973.
