Nature of request: William de Walton and Robert Burre, merchants, state that John, Duke of Brabant, bound himself, his heirs and all the merchants of his country to them by his deed for a certain sum for merchandise bought from them, to be paid at a term which expired twenty years ago. They have often sued to him and to the present Duke, and the present Duke promised to pay them at Easter two years ago, but he did not do so, and has now told them that he cannot pay them yet. They request compensation and damages in some suitable manner.
Nature of endorsement: He is to sue a sicut pluries in Chancery, to be pleaded more strictly, because of the long withholding of the aforesaid money.
