Petitioners: Joan Foun, widow of Richard Foun

Nature of request: Joan, widow of Richard Foun, states that her husband was seised of a messuage and a carucate of land with appurtenances in Yeaveley in Derbyshire, which he held of the Earl of Lancaster, and which should remain to her after his death in wardship, because of the minority of his son and heir, of whom she is the closest relative; but these tenements have been seized into the king's hand because her husband was steward of the Earl of Lancaster of the honour of Leicester. She requests justice and a remedy.
