Nature of request: Edmund, Earl of Arundel, makes two requests:1) He requests a writ to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to search the rolls of the Exchequer to find what debts he owes the king, both from his ancestors' debts and his own.2) He requests a writ to inform the king of the reason for the taking into his hand by John de Berewyk and his companions, justices in Eyre in Shropshire, of Purslow hundred, which belonged to Richard, formerly Earl of Arundel, his father.

Note: CPR 1301-7 p.521 is dated at Carlisle, 24 April 1307, and would appear to be in response to this petition.CCR 1302-7 p.375 and p.377 are both dated at Wolvesey, 15 April 1306 - giving an earliest possible date for the petition.CCR 1307-13 p.308 is dated at Berwick-upon-Tweed, 28 April, 1311, and states that Edward I recovered the hundred by judgment of the court before the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, because of a default by Richard Earl of Arundel, but that Edward II restored it to Edmund Earl of Arundel in the first year of his reign.
