This series contains files of the Government Sub-Commission based at the Control Commission for Germany (British Element) headquarters. Most files in this series are those of the sub-commission's Government Structure Office. They relate to constitutional and administrative structure at all levels of German government; to the handing over of responsibility for various policies, such as denazification, to the Germans, to the organization of elections; and to relations with the Zonal Advisory Council on all these matters.
