Includes an indictment written by the Attorney-General Sir Dudley Ryder against the printer John Purser for the publication of a tract on homosexuality titled Ancient and Modern Pederasty Investigated and Exemplified by the writer Thomas Cannon. The document contains extensive extracts from the book, which was the first defence of gay desire to be published in England. These are the only known extant examples of any part of the book.
