The Industrial Fatigue Board, known from 1929 as the Industrial Health Board, was the only major committee set up by the Medical Research Committee. Set up in 1918, its duty was to initiate, organise and promote (by research grants) investigations in different industries with a view to finding the most favourable hours of labour, spells of work, rest periods and other conditions applicable to the nature of the work investigated. The Industrial Health Board was wound up in 1959. |
