Reference: EG 11
Title: Department of Energy: Corporate Planning and Finance Division and successors: Registered Files (FB series)
Description:

The FB prefix was first raised by the Department of Energy's Corporate Planning and Finance Division upon its establishment in 1974. That Division was later succeeded by the Finance and Nationalised Industries Division and the prefix continued to be used until the 1980s. The Division's functions included corporate planning in the energy sector and responsibility for the department's financial interests.

Some of the files in this series have been re-registered and contain papers originating from predecessor departments. Specifically, this includes papers from the EJ Series used by the Finance and Economic Appraisal Division of originally the Ministry of Technology and latterly the Department of Trade and Industry, until 1974. Prior to this the function was the responsibility of the Ministry of Power's Accountant General's Division.
