'Survey of the Road and River Communications between Tientsin and Peking illustrating the Operations of the Allied Armies made by Lt Col G.J.Wolseley D.A.Q.M General and Lieut R. Harrison, RE 1860': map of the river and overland routes between Tianjin and Beijing. Reference tables to winter temperatures in Beijing and to Chinese place-name elements. Reference notes on the nature of the terrain, river navigability, cultivation and produce, diseases, and native peoples. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel Wolseley. Inset: sections of the city walls of Beijing and Tianjin.
