Plaintiffs: Dame Elizabeth Barton (alias Elizabeth Halford) Frances Halford, Henry Halford esq, Katherine Halford his wife, Edward Halford gent, John Barton gent, Philip Barton esq, Samuel Bullock, Edward Burdett esq, Elizabeth Pope, Charles Halford esq, next friend, Elizabeth Halford spinster, Mary Halford infant and Katherine Halford infant.

Defendants: Sir William Halford kt (alias William Holford) Frances Halford his wife, Geoffrey Palmer, Matthew Johnson, Richard Brudnell, Ebenezer Sadler and William Massey gent.

Subject: Settlement of the will of Sir William Halford kt, of Welham, Leicestershire, deceased, providing legacies and portions for his younger children and the payment of his debts. An earlier Chancery suit had resulted in the decision to sell some of the property and an Act of Parliament was obtained to give better security to purchasers, but the trustees of the estate were slow at implementing the terms of the settlement: property in Market Harborough, Leicestershire; Glooston, Leicestershire and Great Bowden, Leicestershire.
