Administrative / biographical background:

The Technology Reports Centre was formed out of Technological Information Library's Reports Centre in l970. The centre was the responsibility of the Ministry of Technology's Research Administration Division. It published scientific and technical materials from government departments and elsewhere. The Techlinks service, operated by a Techlinks Unit under the centre, provided industry with details of technical advances made in other fields. Both centre and service passed to the Department of Trade and Industry in l970 and thence to the Department of Industry in l974.
