Description:

Identification as half-groat is more probable. Coin face: original has totally disappeared: it appears to have had four blows from some implement which seems to square the circle; bevelled edge gouged off, with no part of bevel or letters of legend remaining. Striking face: severe fractures, one passing from striking face down seven-eighths of shaft; another along half the length of shaft; V-shaped fractures around circumference; flange turned down. Height 51 mm. Diameter. of coin face as now seen 26 mm.
