'L'Empire d'Allemagne dressée et dediée a Monseigneur le Dauphin ...': map of western and central Europe, between Whitby, in Yorkshire, England; Konigsberg, in Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russian Federation), Eszék, in Hungary (now Osijek, Croatia); and Issoire, in Auvergne, France; showing the extent of the Imperial dominions. Long descriptive reference note, in two columns on either side of the map. The map is supported by a two-headed eagle and surrounded by portraits of the Emperors, from Charlemagne to Joseph [I], with brief biographical notes on each; below the map are scenes depicting the coronation of Emperor [Leopold I], Frankfurt-am-Main, July 1658, and popular celebration of the coronation. Scale: 2.2 cm to 5 common German leagues. Compass rose and lines. [By] N de Fer, Geographer to the French King, and H van Loon, Paris.
