Indented lease by Martha Okeover of Okeover, Staffordshire, widow, Thomas Mylward of Eaton Dovedale, Staffordshire, knight, chief justice of Chester, Gilbert Sheldon, doctor of divinity and warden of All Soul's College, Oxford, Thomas Greisley of Drakelow, Derbyshire, esquire, John Gell of Hopton, Derbyshire, esquire, and John Cuffe of Okeover, gentleman, to Robert Willimott of Grays Inn, Middlesex, esquire, of two pieces of land called the 'Two Pynclileas' in the lordship of Okeover, and a piece of land called the 'Hawbridder', and the house or tenement within the 'Little Park' in Okeover, with land (specified), for the term of 21 years, for annual rent of one peppercorn, and for a fine of £488 6s 8d. The land had been leased by three previous deeds: (1) by a lease dated 1 April 1637 from Humphrey Okeover to Thomas Latham of Okeover of the house or tenement within the 'Little Park' in Okeover, with land (specified), for the term of 21 years, for annual rent of £26; (2) by a lease dated 13 August 1637 from Humphrey Okeover to John Wheldon of Okeover Woodhouses, yeoman, of two grounds called the 'Two Pynclileas', and a piece of ground called the 'Hawbridder', for the term of 9 years, for annual rent of £24 10s; and (3) by a lease dated 2 November 1639 from Humphrey Okeover to Sir Thomas Mylward, Gilbert Sheldon, Thomas Greisley, John Gell, and John Cuffe, for the payment of his debts, of two grounds called the 'Two Pynclileas', a piece of ground called the 'Hawbridder', and the house or tenement within the 'Little Park' in Okeover, with land (specified), for the term of 100 years, for annual rent of one peppercorn.
