Dardanelles. General Operational Telegrams. This volume contains all undocketed telegrams and papers related to the Dardanelles operations from 19 February to 17 March 1915. Docketed papers are separately bound, and for this period will be found in volumes ADM 137/38, ADM 137/881 and ADM 137/1089, but for purposes of reference precis of each of these dockets have been inserted in this volume. The date of insertion is that of the latest material paper. A chronological abstract of the documents contained in this volume will be found in folios 602-615. This volume contains a number of handwritten notes and drafts of telegrams by WSC (Winston Spencer Churchill) as First Lord of The Admiralty, at folios 8, 31, 36, 38, 59, 113, 116, 140, 176, 182, 192, 202, 280, 304, 345, 349, 360, 374, 380, 400, 455, 463, 520/521, 525, 547, 553, 580, and 583. |
