Suffolk. Three maps on a single sheet. (1) 'Survey of the River Blyth from Blyford Lock to Southwold Harbour made for the Commissioners of the Southwold Harbour and the River Blyth under the direction of James Walker'. Covers area from Blyford lock to Southwold, with transverse and longitudinal sections. Also shows enclosures, field names, acreage and roads. Scales: plan 1 inch to 12 chains; sections various scales. Compass indicator. Surveyed by John R Wright, 1840. Lithograph, coloured, with MS additions. On dorse, a label: 'The River Blyth and Harbour of Southwold - Embankment of Crown Lands', dated 1849. Dimensions of map 68.6 cm x 122.4 cm. (2) Attached to face: 'Crown Lands embanked upon Southwold Harbour and the River Blyth'. Scale 1 inch to 1 mile. Lithographed, coloured. Dimensions 21.5 cm x 25 cm. (3) Attached to dorse: (a) part of Ordnance Survey One-inch Old Series England and Wales sheet 49, 1837, showing the area covered by the main map, and the coast from Dunwich to Kessingland; (b) a page from Walker's county map of Suffolk, showing days of markets and fairs and distances between towns.
