Japan: 17 maps and plans showing foreign settlements and consulates. (1) 'Plan annexed to the "Memorandum for the Foreign Office Settlements at Yokohama", Signed December 19, 1864': also showing the custom house, the road to Tokyo, and the river and waterfront. (2) 'Plan of Proposed Settlement at Hiogo [now Hyogo]; Annexed to the "Arrangements for the Establishment of Foreign Settlements at the Port of Hiogo and at Osaka", Agreed to May 16,1867': also showing Kobe, fields and the Ikuta River. (3) 'Plan annexed to the Arrangements for the Establishment of Foreign Settlements at the Port of Hiogo and at Osaka': also showing towns, the village of Kujo, rivers, trees, and Japanese buildings. (4) 'Plan of the Exhibition of the Foreign Settlement, Osaka': showing the division of the ground into lots: also showing the river [Yodo], native town and old settlement; scale: 1:900. (5) 'Plan of the Foreign Settlement at Yedo (Tokio) [now Tokyo] annexed to "Arrangements for the Settlement of Foreigners at Yedo".
