Essex: plan of Sturmer Mere, fringed reeds, and with fish, swans, and man in boat. Also shows Sturmer village, and Wixoe manor (Suffolk), roads, woodland. Notes on map concerning the seasonal variation in the state of the ground around the mere, ownership and usage. Reference table. Scale bar surmounted by dividers: 1 inch to 6 poles. Cardinal points: oriented to the south. Made by John Huntte, a commissioner in a case over fishing rights on the mere, Thomas Barnardiston v Henry MacKwilliam, farmer of the dissolved Stoke College for the Queen. |
