Account Book of the Court of Augmentations, with old parchment cover bound in: "The Office of the Treasurership of Augmentations: The book of all and singular payments, as well ordinary as extraordinary, made and paid by Sir John Williams, knight, Treasurer of the sameCourt, pro anno Regni Regis Edwardi vj: Sexto." Arranged in sections. Warrants by the King's Majesty and the Queen include: "to be employed as the order of the lords of the privy council shall thereto appoint"; for certain escutcheons of arms of the Knights of the Garter; to be paid over the King's secret affairs; to the Archbishop of Canterbury to be employed over the expenses of Philip Melancthon sent for into the realm; to sundry gentlemen of divers shires for their entertainment serving the Queen under Sir John Williams; for the expenses of the burial of Edward VI; to the controller of the Lady Elizabeth's house to be by him paid over to her grace's saddler for provisions made for her grace against the coming of the French Admiral. 81 folios
