Description:

Household Book of Sir Anthony Denny, Keeper of the Palace at Westminster. The volume was originally completed 24 April, 34 Henry VIII and has the sign manual on the first and last foliated leaves. It contains, in the words of the title, written in the King's personal name "in the same are particularly expressed all such our jewels, plate, utensils, apparel, wardrobe stuff and other our goods and chattels and things." It includes (folios 53-58) portraits, and (folios 107-119) books. It includes also additional goods brought in at various dates: 11 May, 34 Henry VIII, 13 May, 34 Henry VIII, 27 May, 34 Henry VIII, 13 June, (34) Henry VIII (from Hampton Court, etc.) and of deliveries of various dates to 2 Edward VI; money charged to Denny from 24 April, 34 Henry VIII to 22 January, 38 Henry VIII The whole account is signed by W. Saint John and Wa. Mildmay. There are marginal entries against most of the items. 272 folios
