Appellant: John Gann, William Stroud and William Dadd, masters, and the owners and crews of the smacks Mandamus, Lalla Rookh and Sydney, and William Kemp, master, and the owners and crew of the lugger Queen, and the masters, owners and crews of the smacks Star, Expedient and Emerald, and also William Davis, Henry Fox, William Doughty, Nathaniel Twyman and Henry Doughty, masters, and the owners and crews of the luggers Victory, Lively, Secret, Eclipse, Ocean and Unity. Respondent: Owners and claimants of the ship Clarisse and her cargo, and also the masters and owners and crews of the smack Liberty and the boats of Colchester, the boat Mary and the boats of Milton. Subject: Salvage of the Clarisse. Lower Court: Court of Admiralty of the Cinque Ports.
