Order to the priors of Nostel and Pontefract and R. dean of Ledesham, or two of them, by the penalty promulgated at the Lateran Council against usurers to compel R. son of Ives de Crossebi to restore to W. de Midelton the land of Eglefechan which the latter's father pledged to the said Ives for a certain sum of money and which, although both Ives and his son after his death have obtained their principal (sors) and more from the land, the son refuses to give back. He is also to restore anything received beyond the principal, and witnesses are to be compelled to give evidence by ecclesiastical censure. Lecta nobis ... Lateran. Non. Mar., 5 Innocent III.
