Details of ASSI 39/1
Reference: ASSI 39/1
Description:

Five small notebooks concerning the business of the Home Circuit. One contains the accounts, 1839 to 1847, of Richard Marshall Straight, associate of the circuit, 1827 to 1831, and deputy clerk of assize, 1832 to 1859. The notebook marked 'Lundies Book' in was probably part of the personal papers of Harry Edgell, clerk of assize ?-1863, as it appears to be his gardener's account book. The others contain notes on circuit proceedings, precedent material, lists of fees, the names of governors of gaols, sheriffs' agents and clerks of the peace, lists of places not contributing to the county rates, details of allowances to witnesses, forms of oaths, forms of declaration for use by quakers, and the duties of the associate.

Includes documents used as trial exhibits.
