Security books, containing varying amounts of detail including lists of the chief merchants, factors and writers now in the Company's service on the Coast of Africa, including the date of their indenture of covenant, those who acted as security for them, their position, the amount of their bond and in some cases their salaries and the ship they sailed on. In rare cases a copy of the bond itself is included and there is a preamble to the lists of employees relating to the subscription of stock to the company.
