Ionian Islands (now part of Greece): Corfu (Kerkyra). (1) Map of the environs of Corfu town, showing villages, buildings, fortifications and the nature of the terrain. Scale: 1 inch to about 375 Venetian piedi [about 1:5,080]. Compass indicator. Drawn by Lieutenant W Ward. (4) 'Plan of the fortress of Corfu and the Scoglio di Vido': map of Corfu town and Vido islet. Reference table to fortifications and other buildings. Scale: 1 inch to about 120 Venetian piedi. Compass indicator. [By] Lieutenant Ward. (2-3) Letter from Captain Edward Parker, Royal Engineers, 26 December 1810, reporting on the defences of Corfu. Item (3) endorsed with the name of Lieutenant Colonel [Alexander] Bryce [who probably forwarded the letter and the maps to the War Office]. Dimensions: (1) 34 cm x 80 cm; (2-3) each 20.5 cm x 32.5 cm; (4) 98 cm x 107 cm.
