Description:

Newfoundland (now part of Canada): Saint John's. Three copies of a sheet bearing a plan and section of Palliser's Tower, proposed to be built on South Head at the mouth of the harbour. Reference table and descriptive note to each copy. Scale: 1 inch to 25 feet. Item (1) [the original] signed by [?Captain] Hugh Debbieg, London, 8 May 1770; item (2) copied by John Potter. A note to item (1) states that it was received [at the War Office] with a royal warrant dated 27 July 1770.
