Pennsylvania (now in the United States of America). 'A Mapp of ye Improved Part of Pensilvania in America Divided into Countyes, Townships and Lotts. Surveyed by Tho. Holme. Sold by P. Lea at the Atlas and Hercules in Cheapside': covering the south-eastern part of the colony, between the Brandywine Creek and the Delaware River (including parts of New Castle county, Delaware, and western New Jersey), showing the names of land-holders and proprietors. Reference table to the occupiers of land lots in Bucks, Chester and Philadelphia counties. A rococo cartouche bearing the arms of the Penn family contains a dedication to William Penn by John Harris. Scale: 1 inch to about 2.75 miles. Inset: town plan of Philadelphia, with rococo decoration. The suggested date is taken from the fact that Lea, the map-seller, died in or before 1702.
