Reference notes, in pencil. By Lieutenant George Sorell, Royal Engineers, [date illegible due to damage; presumably the map was made after Sorell became a lieutenant, on 1 September 1841, and before his promotion to second captain in 1847]. Stamped at the Royal Engineers' Office, Mauritius, 14 June 1875.
