Catalogue description Chester great sessions: inquisitions

Loose inquisitions, taken by the sheriff of Chester following the issue of a writ from the Great Sessions, and covering the period from the reign of Charles II onwards. They were held to ascertain the value of the property of defendants against whom debts or damages had been awarded in the court, and were returnable to it.
