Catalogue description Welsh Office: General Division: Registered Files (G Series)

Registered files of the General Division of the Welsh Office relating to such matters as rural depopulation, mining and quarrying, education, the Welsh language, radio and television broadcasting, the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, agriculture and industry.

The general content of the records in this series is similar and the numbering series of the G files follows that of the WA and WAL series (BD 24). In many cases the dates of files will be found to pre-date the commencement of the series, because these files were registered into the G series from the series WA or WAL.
