Reference: Subseries within C 76
Title: 'ROTULI ALEMANNIE'
Description:

The 'Almain Rolls' contain the same sort of material as the French Rolls - enrolments of diplomatic matters, the administration of the Channel Islands and any possessions of the English Crown in France (except Gascony), documents of military and commercial importance etc. It seems that the name 'Almain Rolls' was used in the Chancery for diplomatic enrolments made up in periods of war with France and of closer relations with the Imperial States. This naming practice was dropped in 1338
